Schwarzenegger Kicks Out Cadmium Jewelry

Sterling Canyon has learned that California governor Schwarzenegger signed into law earlier this week a law prohibiting the manufacturing, shipping and sale of Cadmium laced jewelry to children.  A stupid law of course.  That's the type of jewelry found in Walmarts and Targets, and sold with Disney or other nameplates attached to them.  The new law reads "prohibits the manufacturing, shipping and sale of children's jewelry or jewelry components that contain more than 0.03 percent (300 ppm) of cadmium as determined by a total weight test. Children, as defined by California law, are those 6 years old and younger." The law takes effect Jan. 1, 2012.  Well gee.  This jewelry in this shipping container does contain Cadmium but its intended for sale to children  7 and over.  So we're good.  Never mind that older children sometimes have younger siblings.  Sterling Canyon carries the finest in Sterling Silver jewelry, does not market to children, and never sells jewelry made in the Far East.
